LET NOLAN OMURA GUIDE YOU THROUGH HAWAII If you want to visit Hawaii you’ll find that this magical island chain offers pretty much the same weather year-round, but depending on your interests, there are some differences. Summer (May-August) often has the best diving and hiking conditions, while winter (October-Feb) is great if you are looking for consistent (big surf).
13.00
After overlooking those tiny tropical islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean from your airplane window you will arrive on Hawaii’s most populated island, Oahu. I would recommend also seeing some of the other islands — Kauai, Maui or the Big Island — to enhance your Hawaiian experience.

13.30
Scroll through the Airbnb app when booking accommodation and find something off the beaten path. (Waikiki is a tourist trap.) The best Hawaiian experience is to live like the locals, stay close to the beach, and hear the waves hitting the beach as you fall asleep.

14.00
For moving around the island, renting a car is convenient and can help you reach any remote adventures you might seek. There are tons of rental car companies at the airport that can offer a sweet ride. Book one and drive for lunch!

14.30
You are probably starving after long travels to the Island. You’ve probably had a Poke Bowl before, but this dish is actually from here and tastes soooo good with the fresh fish. Go to one of my favorite places: The Ono Seafood, Fresh Catch or Off The Hook.

15.30
ADVENTURE TIME! The afternoon is probably the best time to explore the island. I would recommend going on a hike and watching the sunset on top; it’s one of my favorite afternoon activities. But, you can also go into a chill mode and have a good time, relax on a beach, get a tan, then soak in the golden sunset (best seen from West and North shores).

20.00
After the sun has set, you can enjoy a late-night happy hour at Odoriko. They have great food and good prices after 9 pm. Also, Shirokiya at Ala Moana is a great place to get some brews and delicious food!

22.00
After dinner, if you’re lit after a few brews, you could visit the bars and clubs in Chinatown. An even better call would be to go stargazing. If you rented a pickup, drive away from the lights in town, lay down on the back and watch the most magnificent sight you have ever seen.

06.00
You will probably wake up early so go down to the beach and watch the sunrise. Beaches are usually empty at this time. A sunrise surf is also pretty sweet, but make sure you know everything about the spot before you paddle out, as there are no lifeguards on duty this early. Waves and currents are VERY strong here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

10.00
When the sun has crossed the horizon or your arms hurt too bad from surfing, drive to Koa Pancake house or Yogurstory for an amazing breakfast! I visit these places at least once a week.

11.00
Rent a boat and go on a freediving, diving, surfing or snorkeling mission. Seeing the island from the ocean is stunning and the underwater wildlife is what I live for. If you are lucky, dolphins will swim around close to you and stingrays hover just above the ocean floor.

14.00
Grab an acai bowl before returning the rental car and leaving the island behind. Although, I bet you never want to leave this place.
